모든 대인 관계의 갈등과 다툼은 그와 내가 얼마나 어른인가에 따라 판가름이 난다.

내가 틀릴 수 있다는 가능성을 인정하고 상대 말을 궁금해하느냐 하지 않느냐에 따라

갈등과 싸움은 서로를 죽이는 참극으로 변하기도 하고,

비 온 뒤 땅이 굳는 것처럼 아름다운 인연으로 발전하기도 한다.

나이가 들면 딱딱한 이가 빠지고 부드러운 혀와 잇몸만 남는다.

나만 옳다는 완고하고 경직된 마음을 벗고,

내가 틀릴 수 도 있다는 자유롭고 유연한 마음을 가지라는 뜻이다.
